“ This was a great find. It's a wine and beer market up front and a small restaurant in the back. They have some tables outside. There are a few tables inside and you can sit at the bar. It was very busy mid week at lunch time when we visited. We enjoyed the food and had a local beer. They also do take out. ”
“ FIVE-STARS for The Caboose Market & Cafe in Ashland, Virginia! What an excellent casual dining break on our long North Carolina to Maryland drives to visit the grandkids! Check out our delicious lunch in the photos (excluding our three 'to die for' homemade cookies devoured on the road)! The menu includes salads, soups, sandwiches, and more, plus a beer & wine shop. Indoor and outdoor seating are available. Ashland is five miles north of Richmond on I-95 at exit #92. Go to the railroad tracks, and you're there! By the way, you'll probably have a train going by while you're there! ”
“ Food is all local and fresh, and everything is very good! If there is one thing you have to get, it's the grilled cornbread! I'd go back just for that! Limited seating. Don't expect this to be a fast meal. They make sure each meal is prepped fresh and tasty, so they do take a little longer to get food out. But it's worth it! ”
“ Ladies night out and highly enjoyable. Morgan was attentive & assisted the 4 of us first timers. The environment was clean and the food was served on time considering the busyness of the evening. I loved my chopped up (sub. Beef patty) but note for first timers: the pink is pink! I loved it; my Mom not so much. It was quickly fixed to her liking and she'd order again. My sister's pork chop meal was the highlighted shared taste of the table. Would highly recommend having patience with the wait time. Well worth it. The soapbox derby car (see photo) was a pleasant flash of nostalgia back to my childhood when my siblings participated! ”
“ The charcuterie portion was smaller than expected, but everything tasted great and I enjoyed my visit. The server was extremely helpful, and I was happy to see almost everything on the menu was gluten free or had a gf option. ”
“ Such a great little spot. Vegetarian option, vegan options, full meat options who are ethically sourced. Great service, great friendly folks working there, beautiful plating, just a wonderful wholesome atmosphere. ”
“ I went to The Caboose last night with my family and had an enjoyable time. Despite being busy, the service was fast, and we didn’t have to wait too long for the food. I’m a picky eater, so I ordered the Caboose Burger, but plain. I got exactly what I asked for. It was very yummy. Not only did the burger taste great, but it had a good texture as well. The bun was soft, but somewhat firm, and the meat was tender, but not too mushy. My family had the Side Green Salad, Chicken Caesar Salad, and Grilled Cornbread. They enjoyed their meals, too. I’d also like to add that the restaurant was clean, and the staff were friendly. I’ll definitely be coming back here soon and recommend others to check this place out! ”
“ Legitimately the best hamburger I've ever had. This place restored my faith in being able to get a good burger again. Great atmosphere, specialized menu selections without being super overwhelming or stretching themselves too thin. Dakota waited on me and my wife and was super personable and attentive the entire time. Can't say enough good things about this spot - you just need to go and see for yourself ASAP! ”
